Competition schedule
The competitions are planned to be held from September 15 to 29, 2024 in Moscow and Yekaterinburg. A more detailed schedule will be announced later.

Types of sports
The program of the Games will include 33 summer sports + 2 exhibition sports (Sumo, Mas Wrestling). For the first time such sports as padel, sambo, sports programming, chess, acrobatic rock’n’roll will be presented at the international multisport competitions.

World Friendship Games 2024 is an international multidisciplinary sports competition to be held in Moscow and Yekaterinburg from September 15 to 29, 2024 under the auspices of the International Friendship Association.
Main goal of the Games is to create unconditional opportunities for Russian and Belarusian athletes and sports organizations to participate in international competitions. The Games are also aimed at developing new formats of international sports cooperation.
World Friendship Games 2024 are not a direct alternative to the Olympics, but the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has expressed its apprehension, citing that the games threaten the Olympic movement and “sabotage the world sporting order.”
Event organizers expect more than 7,000 athletes from at least 100 nations to attend the games. The criterion for the athletes’ admission will be the athletes’ own achievements, meaning that all participants will receive individual invitations.
Since the tournament is commercial, the winners and medalists of the games are planned to be paid monetary rewards. They will pay $40,000 for the gold medal, $30,000 for the silver medal and $20,000 for the bronze medal. In addition, the organizers promised to make the gold medal out of pure gold.

Friendship Games 2024: Logo
The logo of the World Friendship Games was presented at the Russia-Africa Summit held in July 2023 in St. Petersburg.
The logo symbolizes the main mission of the Games – sport is a force that unites athletes and fans around the world, without restrictions, bans and discrimination.
Head of the organizing committee of the games Alexei Sorokin:
“The firm handshake depicted in the logo is a universal symbol of greeting, harmony and mutual respect, understood in all cultures from prehistory to the present day. By launching the Friendship Games project, we believe that these principles will return to world sport, including through our tournament”
Friendship Games 2024: Mascot
On March 5, 2024, the official mascot was presented at the World Youth Festival. It became the Tiger, whose name will be determined later. The character was chosen very carefully. VCIOM employees conducted two creative focus groups in Moscow and Yekaterinburg. Based on the surveys, 17 characters were shortlisted, which were drawn at Soyuzmultfilm.
Three mascots made it to the final stage of voting: a squirrel, a tiger and a bear. The winner was determined in a hard and uncompromising struggle. The tiger’s gap from the competitors amounted to only a few votes.
Friendship Games 2024: Objects
The Games will involve 23 sports venues: 19 venues of Moscow (mainly the Luzhniki Olympic Complex) and 4 venues of Yekaterinburg (water and game sports palaces, judo and athletics stadium “Kalininets”). The opening and closing ceremonies of the Games will be held at the Luzhniki Grand Sports Arena.
