Russian Volleyball Championship 2025 (Pari Superleague 2025) is the 34th season of the highest professional volleyball league in Russia, which will be held from September 2024, and will last until May 2025. The Superleague is organized under the auspices of the All-Russian Volleyball Federation (VFV) with the financial support of the title sponsor – Pari betting company.
The men’s league will feature 15 teams (previously 16), while the women’s league will feature 14 teams representing different regions of Russia. Shakhter Soligorsk officially withdrew from the Russian 2024/25 Championship due to financial problems.
At the first stage, the teams will play a two-round tournament, where each team will play each team twice – home and away. At the end of this stage, points will be distributed, which will determine the position of the teams in the standings. Points will be awarded as follows: for a 3:0 or 3:1 victory – 3 points, for a 3:2 victory – 2 points, for a 2:3 defeat – 1 point, for a 0:3 or 1:3 defeat – 0 points. In case of a no-show for the match, one point will be deducted from the team.
Interesting fact! The official ball for games in the Superleague is the domestic Volar model VL-100. This ball was approved by the All-Russian Volleyball Federation a year ago. Currently, Volar is also used in beach and winter volleyball.
After the completion of the main stage, the playoff round begins. In the men’s league, the top four teams advance directly to the quarterfinals, while the teams ranked 5th through 12th will meet in the qualifying round of two wins (with a golden set of up to 15 points). In the women’s league, the top eight teams will directly qualify for the quarterfinals. The quarterfinals will be played to two wins, while the semifinals and final will be played to three.
The teams ranked 9th to 15th in the men’s league and 9th to 14th in the women’s league will participate in the final round. The worst women’s team at the end of this round will leave the Super League, the worst men’s team will play a transition match with the silver medalist of the highest league “A”. The penultimate team of the women’s league (13th place) will also play a transition match with the silver medalist of the highest league “A”.
Vladislav Babkevich from Zenit St. Petersburg became the most productive player in the men’s Superleague in the 2023-2024 season. Among women the title of the most productive player was won by Turkish volleyball player Ebrar Karakurt, representing Lokomotiv.
Among men’s teams Zenit-Kazan and Belogorie, which have the most titles, are traditionally the favorites of the upcoming tournament. Among the women’s teams it is Uralochka-NTMK and Dynamo Moscow, as these teams always show high quality volleyball and strive for new heights.
