Recommended: VTB United League Highlights
VTB United League 2022-2023 is the 14th international basketball tournament of Russia among professional men’s teams under the auspices of the Russian Basketball Federation (RFB). The tournament has been held annually since 2008. The general sponsor is VTB Bank (Vneshtorgbank) of Russia.

The tournament is held in several stages. The first stage is the regular championship, in which teams play two games against each other (home / away). The second stage is the group round, in which the teams play two more games, but within their group.
Teams ranked 1st to 6th place qualify for Group A, while teams ranked 7th to 12th place qualify for Group B. The group round is the second round of the regular season. Points earned are not forfeited, but continue to be credited for games played. The top eight teams advance to the playoff round.
In the first two rounds, teams are ranked based on points earned. Two points are awarded for winning a particular game, and one point is awarded to the losing team. If a basketball club does not come to the game or leaves the game before its completion, no points are awarded. In case of a tie between the teams, personal meetings and scored/scored goals are taken into account.
The playoffs round is a series of games to 3 victories in the quarterfinals, to 4 victories in the semifinals, in the series for the 3rd place and the finals. The best Russian team is recognized as the Russian champion, and the other clubs are ranked according to their place in the playoffs round and the regular championship.
The individual awards are: Most Valuable Player, Most Valuable Playoff Player, Best Sniper, Best Defensive Player, Best Sixth Man, Best Performance of the Season (1st game), Best Debutante, Best Player, and Best Coach.
The most decorated team is CSKA Moscow (10 titles). In the season 2021-2022 the club from Moscow for the first time in 9 years yielded the championship to Zenit from St. Petersburg.
